Bee News

The weather this year has not been favourable for our bees.We had some very hot weather in April which was great and the colonies built up quickly after the very cold winter we had. (-17 and heavy snow for weeks)
It was then cool and disappointing here in the north west where we had lots of wet, windy, cool and damp conditions.
We had to feed the bees on several occasions during the summer just to stop them from starving and so consequently we had very little honey from them at all this year.
We took the same amount of honey off three hives that we got from one hive in summer last year.
They are however all fine and doing well and are well stocked up for the forth coming winter months.
